In addition to the unscented version of the shampoo, Kirkman also carries a scented variety of the same formula, because the odor of the unscented product could be objectionable to some individuals. Kirkman does not use any synthetic perfumes in the scented product, due to the possible allergic or sensitivity reactions many people experience with perfumes. Instead, we utilize pure, natural, Lavender essential oil. Lavender, Vetiver and Cedarwood Oils have been reported to stimulate brain function in some special needs individuals and may actually have a positive effect as reported by Dr. Terry Friedmann M. D. in a two year study concluded in 2001.
